UC Berkeley's Anime Convention

Anime Destiny is located on the 3rd and 4th floor of the MLK Student Union on the University of California, Berkeley campus. The campus's Sproul Plaza, where the famous Sather Gate is, locates at the cross-section of Telegraph Avenue and Bancroft Way in the city of Berkeley.

Directions

Anime Destiny will be held on the UC Berkeley campus on October 13th, 2012, on the 3rd and 4th floor of the MLK Student Union. MLK is located on the south side of campus, across from Sproul Plaza. Parking

Parking can be a real headache in Berkeley. There are one way streets, narrow roads, and pedestrians wandering across Telegraph Avenue. However, if you are driving to Anime Destiny 2011, we can give you a few tips.

Parking around Berkeley can be complicated since much of the street parking is limited to 2 hours or requires a city permit. Some of these permit areas (such as on the north side of campus) do not apply on weekends so you may be able to find street parking for free. However, there are many parking garages near campus which either charge a flat rate for the day or an hourly rate which is capped at a certain point. We recommend parking in the Student Union Garage, for it is right next to the convention center. Vendor unloading and loading will be located here.

All of these garages should be no more than a 5-20 minute walk to the building on campus where the convention is being held.

Public Transportation

To get to the University by Public Transportation is very simple.

BART

Ride the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) to Downtown University Station. After you get off, you can either walk for about 15-20 minutes to campus. You can also ride the 51 AC Transit (Towards Broadway/Blanding Ave) for 2 dollars, and get off at the Telegraph Ave/Durant Ave Stop, a stop that's two small blocks away from the University Gate.

F Bus

If you live in the San Francisco area, the F Bus, which is a Transbay AC transit, will take you directly to the University. You can get on at the San Francisco Transbay Terminal (north-south by Mission Street and Howard Street). The Transbay fare is $4.00 one way for adults, $2.00 for youth, seniors, and disabled. The F Bus will take you directly in front of the University's Sproul Plaza. You can get off the bus at Telegraph Ave/Bancroft Way.

Dining

Hungry? Just south of campus lies Telegraph Avenue and many restaurants. All manner of food is available from Thai to cheeseburgers including many healthy options. While we given a few popular selections, there is much, much more to be found just by walking down Telegraph.

Fat Slice Pizza

This restaurant lies about two blocks from the campus. It's famous for quick service and massive slices of pizza.

The Durant Food Court

The Durant Food Court is the most famous food court on the South side of campus, and one of the most popular places to eat. It consists of more than 10 restaurants which include Italian, Thai, Japanese, Chinese, Donuts, and others. A great place to find Bubble tea, and something satisfying for everyone.

Kip's Restaurant

Two blocks south of campus, this restaurant is a place frequently visited by students. It's known for a huge variety of Chinese and Western food and great prices. Remember to try out their specials and happy hour drinks!
